Delanie Walker
Delanie Walker could use a change
Oct 23,2014
In Weeks 1-4, with Jake Locker primarily under center for the Titans, tight end Delanie Walker averaged 5.5 catches for 79.3 yards with three touchdowns. But the more backup Charlie Whitehurst saw of him, the less he liked. Whitehurst did fine with Walker in Week 4, but in Weeks 5-7, Walker averaged just 3.0 catches for 40.3 yards. So if you own Walker in Fantasy, you can only be encouraged by the Titans' change at quarterback for Week 8 against Houston, even if it's not the one you wanted. Locker is healthy again, but rookie Zach Mettenberger will get the start. Granted, such an inexperienced and unheralded quarterback generally isn't good for anyone on the receiving end, but that's not always true for a tight end, who often becomes a security blanket underneath. Of course, despite ranking 26th against the pass, the Texans have allowed the sixth-fewest Fantasy points per game to tight ends, so that may not be the case for Walker in this one. It's a coin flip whether or not you start him in Week 8. Tight end isn't the deepest position, and most likely, you won't want to roster two. For what it's worth, though, Jamey Eisenberg and Dave Richard both rank Walker outside of their top 12 for this week.
